Gorgeous wallpaper. Simple, clean, and natural. I love what you've done with vectoring the scan, and the sky looks great. To me, the non-uniformity of the clouds only makes it look all that much more natural. Excllenent peice of work. Thanks for uploading it for us to enjoy.

f

Ha! That is just too precious. You did a great job with the jail cell, and the scan chosen is perfect. Also, I love the concept. Kudos on the sentiment.

f

Very cute. I love the snowy background, and the snow effect itself...the "falling" circles instead of actual crystalized flakes or small dots and lines...is really nice. The vector looks really good; I love that expression on her face. Don't know where those trees came from (did you make them yourself, or are they a stock image?), but they look spectacular!

f

Wow, that's...very beautiful. I love the interplay of colors here. You blended them wonderfully. I also love the scan you choose...it fits the theme perfectly. The broken shell gives a very "emergent" feel to it, as if the character were just being born and was torn between the paths before him; or as if the shell itself were some sort of barrier that had kept him protected yet naive, and only now is he forced to cope with the true nature of the world around him. I also really like how the wings have an almost angelic look on their leading edge, but then become more ragged and sharp and generally dangerous as the feathers spread out...which is only enhanced by the red overtones. Lovely and deep. A potent combination. :)

Great work, I'm glad I got to see it.

f

That's a really neat look you got with the "scribbles" on the wall. I really like it. The floor looks nice, but it's really hard to tell where the floor meets the wall, and with the necessary 2D-nature of the wallpaper it seems that the two are one and the same...which makes it look like she's laying on the wall. It's a bit disorienting. Also, while the right half of the window looks really nice, the left half is sort of off-kilter and makes it look like it's angled out for some reason, almost like the wall itself has suddenly changed orientation.

f

Only two things to say here. 1: That column is really cool. 2: The "falling" papers, to the left of the column are a minor problem. The three pages sitting on top of the books look good, and the one just above them is also pretty nice, but the highest one looks sorta funky. In a bad way. I realize it was (or probably was) part of the scan and probably looked just fine in the scan...when the top edge of that peice was the top of the scan itself. However, with it being essentially 2/5 of the way down in the wallpaper, it has an obvious "cut-off" look to it; as if there really should be more of the paper there. It's nothing damning, but it does look a bit odd.

f

The massive pink-ness of this wallpaper is a tad overwhelming, but I like it. The sky is gorgeous, especially the blue itself and the textures and colors integrated into it. Also love those birds. The one thing I really don't like here, though, is the flower she's holding. It's semi-transparent nature is kinda weird. Otherwise, this looks great.

f

Neat. I love those clouds, and the sky in general. Of particular note, however, is the text...namely, this is the one wallpaper of yours that I've seen so far where I actually liked the look of the text. A lot of your wallpapers have a very similar look to this one when it comes to text, but it's never really looked all that good. Here, however, I really like how it melds with the rest of the wallpaper.

My only complaint is the bottom of the wall. Those...circle things are a bit distracting. I don't like them. Otherwise, this a very nice-looking wallpaper.

Extraction flaws? I don't see any flaws at all. I suppose my vision must be going in my old age. :)

f

Gorgeous. I love the way the girl stands out from the background. The bright, glowing overtones and not-actually-but-almost transparent nature really add to the whole "spirit" theme. It's an awesome effect. Leaving in the guys with the torches is also a nice touch. The tree is neat, too, but that barn is superb...I don't know what you did to "give it a little more," but it worked. The sky is very nifty...it almost has a rainy quality to it.

Absolutely gorgeous.

f

Well, there was no way I could let this one slip by un-awesomed, so: Awesome! I am in awe of your skill. Her hair and outfit in particular look terrific. I also love the smokey/foggy appearance of the background; sort of like stage fog. Darn spiffy.

Just wish the text wasn't so...different. Oh well...some things simply must be done a certain way, I suppose.

f

Oh...wow. An oldy but a goody. I really, really like what you did here. The vector looks really nice and the background is...there...but dang, the wallpaper as a whole is just so indescribably cool. The crinkles and lines and smudges and brown circles/blood splotches/whatever give it a very dirty and worn appearance which just looks terrific. I love it...and not just because it's Asuka.

f

Ooh...pretty. You make some excellent backgrounds. I love the color blending and...and...and just the color in general here. That is some awesome use of green...the shade(s) used looks terrific, and natural, and...heck, I just love green. From someone who loves green, let me tell you, that is some excellent green. Okay, I'm rambling...back to business.

The clouds are very nice and I like the texture a lot. The ribbons are...not bad. They seem like thet should look out of place, but they don't. I don't know...I don't want to like them, but I do...I really do. It's very confusing. In particular, I love the color blending and variation in the far ribbon. The sakura petals are very sharp and angular and generally rhombic...but for some reason they look terrific. Go figure. The differing shades of pink and magenta even give them an almost-3D look. Nice job with that.

The girl looks very nice. I love the soft texture and the colors blend perfectly into the background. The cat ears are really creepy, though. Definitely could have done without those.

f

It's nice. I love the background; the classic colors and soft, cloudy texture are beautiful. The color choices made were excelent, especially with the ribbons, and the reflection effect in the "water" is pretty neat. The scan looks very nice...by itself. It's bright and pretty and clean and...sharp. Very sharp. I mean that in an "oh no! I've cut myself on its edge!" sort of way. See...the background is beautiful, it really is, and the scan looks great...but they don't meld well. It has absolutely nothing to do with the "design" of the background, rather it's the stark contrast in color intensity. The background is soft, subdued, and classy, but the scan is bright and almost..."metalic." It's an odd combination that is frankly a bit jarring (where such a reaction is probably not intended). It's a nice wallpaper, but the contrast between background and foreground is a bit too much for me.

f

Very nice. The vectors look absolutely terrific; clean and neat, yet with a wonderful textured effect that makes them seem that much more natural. I love 'em.

The background...this'll take a few sentences. The first thing I have to say is that I don't like the butterflies. They're bright and clean and do a nice job of adding features to the background. That said, it's a grossly-overused effect. The butterflies themselves are perhaps a bit too bright, considering the rest of the wallpaper. The vast majority of the wallpaper is very dark and dim...even the whites and pinks are dull and subdued...and yet all of the sudden there are tiny spots of brilliant white. In some cases this effect can work really well, but here I feel it just detracts from the natural, subdued appearance of the wallpaper. The butterfly "trails" just clutter up the background and cheapen the emotion of the wallpaper in my opinion...but then I'm a guy, so what do I know about such things, anyway? The rest of the backgrond, however, is very nice. Apparently unlike most of the others who've commented, I don't think the background is empty at all...on the contrary, I think it has a lot of subtle feature that's actually very beautiful. I personally love the colors you choose. The deep green melds into the blood red beautifully via a nice swath of browns and greys and helps bring out the color contrasts between the two scans very well. The choice, position, and blending of the colors also serves wonderfully to give a sort of abstract "landscape" appearance, with faux grass, mountains, and sunset being implicitly portrayed without ever being explicitly shown...I love the effect. Absolutely love it. The texture chosen, as I mentioned earlier, is also very nice, as it both softens and darkens the colors chosen and gives the whole wallpaper a more "natural" feel.

All in all, I love it. Yeah, I could certainly do without the butterflies, but they don't ruin the wallpaper...they just don't do anything to enhance it. So, like I said, very nice. Glad I got to see this...thanks for uploading your hard work for us all to enjoy.

f

Very classy. The colors look great, and the stark difference between the blues and whites almost forces you to take notice of the smooth, beautiful lines. My favourite part of the wallpaper, though, is the subtle variations in color, especially in the whites. That's awesome. Brilliant wallpaper, Tama. Thanks for letting us take a look.

f

That's awesome. I love the symbolism ("what's the, uh, symbology of that" ;) ) and the colors are brilliant and beautiful. A simple yet stunning wallpaper. Tama-Neko, you rock.

f

Oh my god, that's gorgeous. You make awesome Mushishi wallpaper. I love the gambit of blues and whites. The texture adds some excellent depth, the perspective is great, and I absolutely adore the text...that is so cool.

f

Ha! Brilliant. I don't think I can vocalize just how happy I am to have found this.

f

Huh? What's up with all the nekkid aggression? :) Oh, lord, I should be slapped for that. Thankfully no one is around right now. But, yeah...not like you can see anything in the wall or the original scan, so what's the big deal? Anyway, neat concept, and the finished product looks really cool. Apparently I missed a lot of artistic evolution while I was gone. Oh well...them's the breaks.

f

At first, I really wasn't sure if I should even look at this one, but I am so glad I did. It's hilarious. Your description made the whole thing make sense, since I have no experience with this manga, and that just made it all the more awesome. Thanks for that. And for this wallpaper. It made me smile, and that's always worthwhile.

f

Very nice. I like the color gradient, and blue was obviously the perfect color. The silhouetted spires/towers look really good, as does Sayuri.

f

Wow...a single wallpaper that brings back all the memories and style of the 80's in one glaringly-bright omage to neon glitz. It's beautiful. Okay, maybe not "beautiful" in the traditional sense, but for doing what it does in the way it does it...wow. I'm down right impressed. Maybe that's not quite the effect you were going for, but that's what it does to me.

Crop tool? Bah! The widescreen monitor is /my/ friend!

f

Beautiful overall appearance, going with that classic papyrus feel again. You pull it off very well. I love the scenery, especially rendered in this style...it just looks so cool. The father and son add the "aww" factor, but I'm more impressed that they're going fishing. I know, it's a "common" thing, but I've got such great memories of fishing with my own father...

Dangit...now I have to go fund this "Mushishi" thing and see it for myself. You've made such incredible wallpapers featuring it, it's got to be awesome.

f

Heh...very cool. Love the smoke-kanji and other designs. Some sort of squid or jellyfish, maybe, a...bat, perhaps, a snail-ish thing and...erm, some sort of fruit. Those would be my guesses anyway. Regardless, it is undeniably cool. I also like the sheer darkness of the wall.
